In 2014 Katherine Kirk and her Husband Tom traveled with Golf Fore Africa & Betsy King to Zambia. There they helped dedicate 3 wells that were funded by the organization.
Kirk has been involved with King’s charity Golf Fore Africa for many years and in fact traveled with Betsy to Africa prior to the 2014 trip. She has seen the work firsthand, and its life changing effect.
There are 633 million people in the world that lack access to clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide or, twice the population of the United States. Most of these people live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick.
This year Katherine has committed to funding at least one well and will donate $1,000 for every cut she makes. “I’m asking my family and fans to join me in this effort,” says Kirk, “$15,000 funds one well and impacts an entire community.”
